How to control anger?

When you say “control” anger, do you mean that you don’t want to feel anger at all, or that you’re not satisfied with how you usually respond to it? Controlling anger is about understanding it and channeling it constructively. Anger is a natural response to triggers like frustration, disrespect, or unmet expectations, but bottling it up can harm your mental and physical health, leading to resentment, stress, or even outbursts later. Instead, it’s important to acknowledge your anger and express it in a healthy way—calmly communicating your feelings, engaging in stress-relief activities like deep breathing or physical exercise, and finding solutions to the issue. Reflect on what commonly makes you angry. Is it being misunderstood, feeling disrespected, or unmet expectations? How do you typically respond—by yelling, withdrawing, or addressing the situation calmly? Your response can determine if your anger is managed well or if it’s exaggerated. Recognizing patterns in your anger and working on thoughtful, constructive responses can help you regain control and resolve conflicts effectively.
